Beginning February 25, travelers from the USA to the UK will be required to fill out an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter. The ETA can be completed online or through the UK ETA app. Information required will include passport and photo images, email address plus a payment. Within a day travelers will receive back a 16-digit ETA reference number linked to their passport. The ETA will be good for two years. The ETA will be required even for travelers who will be transiting through the UK enroute to another destination. The system has been in operation since October on a test basis but will be mandatory beginning February 25, 2026.
