“Nancy, We are certainly enjoying our [villa] stay in Umbria! We've played in the pool a few times, but have ventured out just about every day visiting the local areas and vineyards, and doing some shopping. The girls ventured out on their own the other day to Deruta, while the guys played golf at some mountain course. We (the girls) had a great time with a personal tour of the oldest Majolica factory in Italy. Their work is just exquisite. While wandering in and out of the shops in the town, one of the owners took us to his workshop and showed us how he makes his pottery. He was a very nice man, and he insisted on kissing us all the European way (on both cheeks). Each day is an adventure....today the__ and __went back to Assisi (we've been before), so we headed for Bavagna (a beautiful little town; so enjoyable) for their medieval festival. Stopped at a winery along the way and had a personal tour! No one else was there! Of course, we bought some wine, too. Ciao, Paulette”
