Preparations are underway for the November 4, 2025 offical opening of the Grand Egyption Museum located near the Giza Pyramid Complex. The museum, the largest museum in the world devoted to a single civilization, will showcase over 100,000 artifacts, including the complete contents of King Tutankhamun’s tomb.

In Hawaii, the Department of Transportation is proposing a 50% reduction in cruise ship calls on the state’s ports by 2030 and an additional 50% reduction by 2035. This will not apply to ships homeported in Hawaii. All in the name of environmental protection. Because Honolulu lacks a shore-side power hookup for cruise ships, ships must continue using their powerplants when in port. Industry representatives are mobilizing to combat the new idea, but time will tell. In May the state legislature passed a 15% environmental tax on cruise ships calling on Hawaii ports. We’ll keep monitoring this story. Pic by Tony Cassano, Go Bucket List Travel

We recently enjoyed a private guided tour of St John and the surrounding area of New Brunswick, Canada. Our local driver brought the tour to life with his recollections of life growing up in St John. If you have only a few hours to spend and want to cover the highlights or want to see something special ask us to arrange for a private day tour. Leave the details to your “Bucket List Concierge.”
