The U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Protection issued an Order [pdf, 9 pages] effective January 26, 2021. It requires all air passengers over the age of 2, arriving to the US from a foreign country, including U.S. citizens and those who may have already been vaccinated, to get an antigen test for COVID-19 infection no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to provide proof of the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight.
The Bermuda Ministry of Health has designed a process for easy access to COVID antigen testing, including results within the 72-hour turnaround time the U.S. CDC requires.
Bermuda is in the top 10 globally for COVID testing per capita. Since July 2020 all incoming visitors are tested when they arrive by air or sea, and automatically booked to be tested again on day 4, 8 and 14. Visitors receive an email typically within 24 hours with their test results and an appointment for their next test.
Outbound test results will contain the following information: name, birth date, gender, date of test, type of test and test credentials, lab name and address. This will satisfy the U.S. entry requirements.
