Itinerary
June 5 - Fly to Quito, Ecuador, [special air rates are available] enjoy two nights at the Quito Marriott
June 6. Free Day in Quito
June 7. In the morning fly to Baltra Island [air included] where you will board the luxurious Celebrity Flora. In the afternoon we will sail to Daphne Island, a satellite volcanic cone located north of Santa Cruz Island. The crater floor is an important breeding site for blue-footed boobies. The cliff shore of the island is home for sea lions, pelicans, blue-footed boobies, and tropic birds which can be observed during the circumnavigation of the island.
June 8. Egas Port, Santiago Island, with its sandy beach and black –rock, blue-water grottos, this stop offers a taste of the Galapagos geology, some great snorkeling, and an opportunity to see shore birds and Galapagos fur seals. Excursion options: long walk along the shore to the grottos to see fur seals, followed by optional swimming and snorkeling or a shorter coastal walk.
After lunch we sail over to Rabida Island, best known for its red sand and eroded volcanic landscape. A nesting colony of pelicans makes its home here, along with sea lions and some sea birds. Excursion options: coastal exploration ride, short walk, swimming, and snorkeling from the beach.
June 9. This morning we are at Elizabeth Bay, Isabela Island, one of the western-most points in the Galapagos. A scenic tender ride along this sheltered inlet offers a wide variety of wildlife viewing and a wonderful mangrove ecosystem.
Later we head to Tagus Cove, Isabela Island, historically an anchorage for pirates and whalers, this site offers a breathtaking view of Isabela, its volcanoes, and a saltwater lagoon. Along the shore, seabirds, penguins, sea lions, sea turtles, and nesting flightless cormorants can often be found. Excursion options: coastal exploration, walk, snorkeling and kayak.
June 10. Sullivan Bay, Santiago Island, is our morning stop. During a volcanic eruption in the early 1900’s, this area of Santiago was covered with flowing lava. Today, the hardened fields of black rock create a geologic wonderland. Take advantage of the cool of the early morning for a walk at this amazing site.
We then sail over to spectacular Bartolomé Island, one of the region’s most photographed views. Its barren moon-like volcanic landscapes, spatter cones, and pinnacle rock make for a unique stop. It is also home to the endemic Galapagos penguin and provides an excellent opportunity for snorkeling. Excursion options: hike up some 368 stairs “To the Top” of the volcano, a zodiac ride, and an optional beach swim or snorkel.
June 11. Las Bachas, Santa Cruz Island, is our morning visit. Behind one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in all of the Galapagos, you will find two small ponds that often have flamingos feeding in the shallows. It is also one of the largest nesting areas for the Pacific green sea turtle. Excursion options: short beach walk to look for flamingos, followed by an optional opportunity to swim, snorkel from the beach, or just relax on the shore.
This afternoon we move over to North Seymour Island, home to the largest colony of frigate birds in the Galapagos. While keeping an eye out for male frigates trying to impress potential mates with an inflated red neck pouch, you may also see blue-footed boobies dancing in a timeless courtship ritual. Sea lions and large land iguanas also roam about this rocky terrain. Excursion options: a long rocky walk, coastal exploration ride and short easy walk; or simply a scenic coastal exploration tour along the coast to view wildlife and the geology of the area. Experienced snorkelers will also have an option of deep water snorkeling.
June 12. Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristobal Island is the administrative capital of the islands. Excursion options: a tour of a local interpretation center and time for shopping or a fast-paced long walk to view scenic vistas, followed by a visit to the interpretation center before we head to Punta Pitt, thought by many to be the most spectacular site in San Cristobal. Punta Pitt allows for the rare opportunity to visit the one of the few locations in the Galapagos where you can observe all three species of boobies–Blue, Red and Nazca–and two species of frigate birds nesting in the same area. You will have an opportunity to explore its volcanic terrain as well as beach swimming. Excursion options: zodiac, hike and swim.
June 13. Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island. This is the main population center of the islands, Puerto Ayora is home to the National Park Service tortoise-breeding center and the Charles Darwin Research Station. You will be able to visit the breeding center and walk through the Research Station. You will also have the opportunity to take a bus ride to the highlands to observe giant tortoises in the wild and walk through a lava tunnel. In addition, you will have an exclusive opportunity to participate in the Scalesia reforestation project.
June 14. Today we will disembark the ship, transfer to the airport, fly back to Quito and remain overnight at the Quito Marriott before our flights home the next day.
June 15. Fly back to the USA or continue on your South America extension.

Itinerary
August 20, 2025: Reykjavik is the world’s northernmost capital city yet captures the distinctive feel of a fishing village. The Kentucky-sized island is Europe’s westernmost nation and one of the wildest places on earth.
August 21, 2025: Heimaey is the only populated island in the Westman Islands. The scenery is stunning with its volcanic landscapes, moss-covered clifftops and picturesque homes with brightly colored rooftops. A number of breathtaking natural sights are a result of the volcanic eruption that took place here in 1973, which saw the evacuation of all 5,000 residents to the mainland. Each summer, millions of puffins pay a visit and countless other species migrate here to feed and breed. Several efforts are underway to protect the wealth of wildlife, from puffins to the gentle giants of the sea.
August 22, 2025: Djúpivogur lies on Iceland’s east coast and has been a trading center since the 16th century. The town is presided over by the towering Búlandstindur; a mountain famed in local folklore for its ability to grant wishes during the summer solstice.
August 23, 2025: Seydisfjördur enjoys a mountainous setting at the end of a fjord. It traces its origins to the early days of Viking settlements. Though the town is tiny, it boasts an impressive history. It hosted the world’s first modern whaling station and pioneered international communications when it welcomed the first telegraph cable, linking Iceland to Europe. Colorful wooden homes line the streets, overseen by starkly picturesque slopes and the soaring summits of Mounts Bjólfur and Strandartindur.
August 24, 2025: Akureyri, nicknamed the “Capital of the North,” is set at the end of the Eyjafjördur and enjoys a mild climate, unusual for a northern city just 62 miles from the Arctic Circle. Folk culture is robust in Akureyri; the Vefarinn dance was invented here to celebrate the harvest. Don’t forget to see the famous Icelandic horses on nearby farms.
August 25, 2025: Ísafjördur, nestled at the foot of dramatic mountain slopes, is the capital and largest settlement on the Westfjords, a large peninsula in northwestern Iceland that is connected to the mainland by a wide isthmus. This rugged, unspoiled region is home to landscapes of breathtaking natural beauty, from jagged mountain peaks, to red- and gold-sand beaches, cascading waterfalls and Drangajökull, Iceland’s only expanding glacier. The Westfjords teem with birdlife; Látrabjarg, located on the peninsula’s western shores, is the site of one of Europe’s largest bird cliffs.
August 26, 2025: A relaxing day at sea as you sail to Greenland.
August 27, 2025: Nanortalik is nestled on an island near the mouth of a fjord on the southwestern shores of Greenland. It was established in 1770, though a small group of Vikings led by Erik the Red first arrived in the 10th century and called it “Grœnland,” or Greenland, in hopes of attracting more settlers. Today, the Inuit people dominate this austere and picturesque landscape and hold fast to their long Inuit traditions by fishing for crab, hunting hooded seals and welcoming visitors with a festive kaffe-mik, a coffee party with plenty of their famed Greenlandic cake.
August 28, 2025: Qaqortoq is a repository of Viking, Inuit and Danish history. Greenland’s largest and best-preserved Viking settlement lies 12 miles out of town at Hvalsey, established by Erik the Red’s uncle in the 10th century. The Inuit soon followed, and left behind many artifacts from their early days. The Danish colonial era, too, is finely reflected in historic buildings, including an 1804 blacksmith’s shop and the harborside 1797 black tar log building. Qaqortoq lends itself to leisurely strolls and its spectacular setting attracts outdoor enthusiasts.
August 29, 2025: Sailing the Labrador Sea.
August 30, 2025: L’Anse aux Meadows, Labrador, Canada is the site of the first Norse settlement in the Americas. Leif Eriksson’s voyage from Greenland in the late 10th century predated Columbus by 500 years. Proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978, the ancient village Eriksson founded provides fascinating insight into the day-to-day lives of Vikings. Each of its dwellings was constructed of a wood frame covered in sod. The site was uncovered in 1960, when a village local pointed out a series of mounds in the earth that he and his neighbors had always believed to be an ancient Native American camp.
August 31, 2025: Sailing the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
September 1, 2025: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada exudes a fine European air and lies along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors by sea are greeted by the 1758 Sambro Island Lighthouse, the oldest surviving beacon in North America. In the harborside Historic Properties district, grand and charming stone buildings built in the 18th and 19th centuries grace the cobblestone streets. The city grew up around Citadel Hill, where Fort George protected the harbor. The fortress, along with the adjacent stately Halifax Town Clock, has been gloriously restored and preserved.
September 2, 2025: Enjoy a relaxing day at sea.
September 3, 2025: New York City. After breakfast disembark for your return journey home.

Greece
Kavala
Tucked into the northeastern coast of mainland Greece, just below the Bulgarian border, the hillside city of Kavala overlooks the Aegean Sea and is the main seaport of eastern Macedonia. Kavala will offer you a surprising mix of history, culture, and architecture—archeological sites, monuments, cobblestone streets, wooden balconies lined with flowers, colorful palaces, and hilltop fortresses—as well as diverse landscapes like lush wetlands, lagoons, inland lakes, beaches, and diverse flora and fauna. Saint Paul entered Europe here and preached to the local communities of Philippi and Neapoli. With a culinary scene that joins East and West, you will experience traditional and modern food with ingredients that small local producers source from the nearby mountains, sea, and wineries. With all that Kavala offers, you will see why people quickly fall in love with this seaside city.
Mykonos
Mykonos is known for its whitewashed villages sprinkled with blue and jade green. The most popular island in the Cyclades is bustling with activity, awash in beautiful alleyways, and home to alluring sandy beaches.
Rhodes
You’ll discover the island’s long, sandy beaches, vibrant culture, and thousands of years of history that unfold as you explore. Experience winding Byzantine streets in Old Town. See the magnificent palaces built by the medieval Knights of St. John. Venture further afield to beautiful Lindos, a whitewashed hill town dominated by a dramatic acropolis and an ancient temple.
Santorini.
Here on the island of Santorini, you’ll find a classic Greek seascape—whitewashed houses accented by sea-blue roofs. This is a treasure trove for both professional and amateur archeology buffs, with sites that include tombs that date back to the 9th century and the sanctuary of Apollo. In many ways, Santorini could be considered an explosive place, being that its terraced collection of homes and windmills lie on a caldera—a huge basin formed by an erupting volcano. Oia’s hilltop not only has the ancient, Minoan site of Akrotiri, but is quite possibly the best vantage point from which to witness the spectacular sunsets.
Thessaloniki
The second largest city in Greece, Thessaloniki has so much going for it—beauty, history, culture, and absolutely amazing views of the sea. One of its most famous sites is the iconic White Tower which dates from the 1500s and was built as part of the city’s fortification. Head to the top of it for sweeping views of the city, shimmering gulf, and surrounding hills. Practically an open-air museum of Byzantine art, Thessaloniki offers many opportunities to stroll among 5th century churches, archeological sites, a 13th century bathhouse, archaeological museums, and contemporary art museums.
Volos
Volos, Greece’s newest port city, is located at the foot of Mount Pelion and the innermost point of the Pagasetic Gulf. As an important industrial center and bridge between Europe and Asia, this lively seafront destination offers you many things to discover—local cultural activities, museums, cafes, restaurants, and an exciting nightlife area. You will also enjoy its unique architecture, nearby lush mountain ranges, and golden beaches.
Other highlighted attractions include walking the Centaur’s Path—from which the mythical story of the Centaur was born—the Pelion Railway, the seafront Anavros Park, the Castle of Volos, Dimini Archaeological Site, and the Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum of Volos.
Turkey
Ephesus
St Paul preached for over three years in this capital of the Roman province of Asia Minor, now an archeologist’s dream. The excavations of the UNESCO World Heritage ruins of have been underway for 150 years, yet only 20 percent of the city has been uncovered. This former Greek banking and trading center is rich with historic sites, including the Great Theater, the Temple of Hadrian, and the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Check out the Celsus Library — built in 117 A.D.— made up of towering columns highlighted by the statue of the goddess of wisdom.
Istanbul.
Nestled between Europe and Asia, Turkey offers a blend of both worlds. The country has been a bridge between the two continents for thousands of years. Istanbul offers sensory delights at every turn, from its towering, colorful minarets to the scent of coffee brewing in fragrant cardamom and sugar.
History lovers will find plenty to occupy their time during their Istanbul cruise, like touring the Blue Mosque or the Basilica Cistern. See the Hagia Sophia, one of the most enduring and famous sights in all of Istanbul. Shop and haggle at the Grand Bazaar, or make a day of admiring artisanal goods at the Kadıköy Produce Market just a ferry ride away. Admire the strait of Bosphorus, which connects the continents of Europe and Asia, from an awe-inspiring suspension bridge spanning 19 miles. Istanbul is both modern and historied at once.
