Canada COVID Cruise Rules Updated

This week Canada reaffirmed that all passengers disembarking in Canada from cruise ships, even for one-day shore excursions, be vaccinated, except for children under the age of 12.

Also, passengers boarding a cruise ship in Canada must take a COVID PCR test within three days or an antigen test within one day of boarding.

Last summer, as Canadian cruise rules are stricter than those published by the CDC, Congress passed legislation to protect the Alaska 2021 summer tourist season, allowing foreign-flagged cruise ships sailing from Seattle and other west coast ports to Alaska to bypass Canadian ports. We will let you know if a similar law is enacted for 2022.
