USA Entered the Commerical Jet Age

On this day in travel history, October 26,1958, the band was playing at New York Idlewild airport as Pan American World Airways’ first Boeing 707 “Clipper America” prepared to make its inaugural flight with 111 passengers to Paris Le Bourget airport. The plane made a fuel stop in Gander, Newfoundland on its way to Paris for a total travel time of 8 hours and 41 minutes. America entered the commercial jet age on this day in history! We wonder what was served for dinner.
